The Main Library

The Medical University of Bialystok has a well stocked Main Library, established in June 1950. It is the biggest medical library in North-Eastern Poland. It is located in the main building of the University. The Library has a collection of 132 098 books, 59 565 journals, and 7 987 special items, like manuscripts, microfilms, audiovisual materials, electronic documents. Bibliographic and full-text databases are accessable . Users of the library include students, the teaching staff, health care personnel, scientific institutions out of the region (the total number of registered users is 4 199). Information about the library's collection is available on the University's website. Students can use an electronic search catalogue "ALEPH 500".
