Costs of living and accommodation

Koszty utrzymania i zakwaterowania są relatywnie niskie. Na przykład:

• Room in a dormitory: 200-1000 PLN/month
• Private accommodation (small apartment): 500-1200 PLN/month
• Dinner in a cheap restaurant: 8-20 PLN
• Beer: 2-6 PLN
• Bread: 2 PLN
• Cheese: 15 PLN/kg
• Milk: 2-3 PLN
• Petrol: 4-5 PLN/liter
• Cup of coffee: 2-4 PLN
• Local transportation (bus tickets):
  • monthly student ticket 30 PLN
  • single fare 2 PLN
  • single student fare 1 PLN

There are different types of housing available. A visiting student can either live in one of the dormitories or rent a private room, which is more expensive (see prices above).

The Medical University of Bialystok has 2 dormitories. They are financially supported by the University's budget, and by the fees of residents. Socrates students should notify in advance to the Socrates/Erasmus Office of their intention to live in the dormitory.
